Petals From Above
Most of the petal drops we fly are for funerals, memorial services, and celebrations of life. We also fly them for proposals, vow renewals, prom send-offs, and milestone birthdays. The service runs the same way regardless of occasion: you host the gathering at a location of your choice within 25 nautical miles of our Philadelphia facility located at Northeast Philadelphia Airport, our team coordinates the timing of the drop with you, and the helicopter handles the rest from above.

"Twenty years in and I finally surprised her."
My wife turned 50 in March, and twenty years in, I figured I'd run out of ways to surprise her. We had a small dinner planned at our place in Chestnut Hill with her sisters and a few close friends, about 20 people total. Our oldest daughter actually found MyFlight and suggested the petal drop. I figured if anything could top her usual expectations, this was it.
The MyFlight team made it easy. They sent over a list of questions about the property and went through the area to confirm the drop would work safely. They were clear: no takeoff until I confirmed everyone was in position. The night of the dinner, I had her sister keep her on the back porch saying she wanted to show her the new lights. The second she stepped outside, I texted the team.
The helicopter came in less than three minutes later. It hovered over the yard and dropped the petals. Five pounds, way more than I expected. My wife stood there with her hand over her mouth. Her sisters lost their minds. Our daughter got the whole thing on video, and she's been showing it to people for weeks. Probably one of the better moves I've made in twenty years.

As low as the conditions safely allow. The exact altitude depends on the location, surrounding terrain, air traffic, and airspace restrictions. Your pilot makes the call.
No. Some locations can't be flown over due to airspace restrictions, safety considerations, or access limitations. If your location isn't approved, we'll work with you on alternatives.
We reschedule at no charge. Memorials often have tight timing constraints, so we prioritize these reschedules.
No. The drop is designed for the people on the ground. Only MyFlight staff is approved on the flight during the drops.
We will only release the petals when the point of contact for the event explicitly says the entire group is ready. Once confirmed, the helicopter will depart and drop the powder. The helicopter will not hover waiting for the group to be ready, so be sure to have everyone outside!
We typically still fly in windy conditions. However, excessive winds will require us to reschedule. We cannot guarantee that the petals will land directly overhead due to wind conditions. Our pilots and staff try their best to ensure it gets as close to the group as possible.
