MyFlight Tours Detroit February Building Update

February Construction Update

Construction on the new MyFlight Tours headquarters and operations facility continued to move quickly throughout February. After January’s structural and drywall work, the focus shifted toward finishing the interior, installing critical electrical infrastructure, and advancing exterior improvements.

These upgrades bring us another step closer to opening a modern facility designed to support our expanding helicopter tour operations.

Below is a look at the key milestones from February’s progress.

Interior Painting and Finishing Work

Once drywall installation and taping were completed, painters began rolling primer and finish coats across the walls and ceilings. This process transforms the interior space from a construction environment into a clean and professional workspace.

Interior finishing is a major milestone because it means the building is transitioning into its final stages.

Painting also prepares the space for:

  • Lighting installation

  • Interior trim work

  • Flooring installation

  • Office and operational build-outs

The bright interior will ultimately create a welcoming environment for both MyFlight Tours staff and guests visiting the facility.

Electrical Infrastructure and Power Systems Installation

Another major step forward this month was the installation of electrical infrastructure and power distribution systems outside the building.

Crews worked to position and connect a large electrical transformer that will power the facility. This equipment is essential for supplying reliable electricity to the building’s lighting, systems, offices, and operational equipment.

Electrical infrastructure work typically includes:

  • Installing transformers and electrical panels

  • Running high-capacity power lines into the building

  • Connecting service panels and distribution boxes

  • Preparing the building for full electrical activation

Exterior Glass Installation

Significant progress was also made on the building exterior, including the installation of large glass panels along the façade.

Using specialized lifting equipment with suction mounts, crews carefully positioned and secured the glass sections into place. These panels will allow natural light into the interior while giving the building a modern and open appearance.

Exterior glass installation requires precision and specialized equipment to safely lift and align large panels.

These windows will:

  • Improve natural lighting inside the building

  • Enhance the architectural design

  • Provide views of the surrounding airport environment

  • Create a modern, professional exterior for the facility

The installation of these large glass sections marks another major milestone as the building exterior nears completion.
